Saalbach Hinterglemm, Austria — 10th February 2011: Jamie Anderson (USA) won the Roxy Snow Pro slopestyle competition in Saalbach Hinterglemm, Austria tonight, followed by Cheryl Maas (NED) in second and Aimee Fuller (GBR) completing the podium in third place.  Each of these ladies were awarded with valuable TTR ranking points and a piece of the  $25,000 USD prize purse.

Jamie Anderson was on fire once again and took the 5Star slopestyle title with her best run that consisted of a backside boardslide, Cab 720 nose grab, switch backside 540, backside 360 mute grab and a backside wallride. Jamie commented: “I am so happy to have won the Roxy Snow Pro. All the girls were riding amazing. And, the park crews built a great park set up. It was amazing to ride under the lights at night. I couldn’t be happier!”

Roxy’s next top rider — just like it is on the TV, the Roxy Team are submitted to some challenges to find out who has got what it takes to be Roxy’t next top rider! Will current top girl Torah Bright manage to stay on top or will she be toppled by ever present Kjersti Buaas, or will newcomer Aimee Fuller put a cat in the pigeons. Watch here to find out!

All-girls-skateboard-contest on Easter at Skatehalle Berlin, Germany

Skater girls from far and near, small ones and tall ones, vert-rider and street-trickster will show the world on Easter 2012 how skateboarding is done – maybe not the whole world, but at least Berlin: The SUCK MY TRUCKS-Contest – Berlins first all-girls-skateboard-contest – opens its doors on Saturday, April 7th, 2012 to another round of high level lady’s street- and vert-skateboarding at the Skatehalle Berlin. The contest should start at 13:00 after the first practice session. The total prize money adds up to 2.000 Euros.

Part of the SUCK MY TRUCKS is the „SUCK MY TRUCKS“-Exhibition „Girls skate history“. There you will visibly (re)visit the very beginnings of women skateboarding, find high class skate-photography and signature items from Elissa Steamer or Steffi Wolter. Those who prefer movies over pictures: just sit down and watch one of the many skate videos, that will be shown. On display are also images from Nikki Toole’s „Skater Book“. So be sure to visit the „Girls skate history“-Exhibition on Saturday , April 7th, sometime between 12:00 and 20:00 hrs at the cassiopeia Club, right next to the Skatehalle Berlin.
The „SUCK MY TRUCKS“-Aftershow-Party starts at 23:00 at the cassiopeia Club.

Berlins first girls-only-skateboard-contest SUCK MY TRUCKS premiered last year on Easter. The 30 starter places for the street contest were gone in no time. Pros and amateurs from all over Europe competed at a very high level. To name just a few tricks: board-, tail- and noseslides, feeble- , smith- and five-0-grinds, liptricks and a few very nice 360 flips. The back then only 15-year old Emma Lindgren from Sweden made 1st, Julia Brückler from Vienna 2nd and local hero Caroline Dynybil 3rd place.

The vert-contest, one of the few today, was reason enough for Karen Jonz to fly from Brazil to Berlin in order to participate at the first SUCK MY TRUCKS. The former X-games-gold-medalist Jonz had fun ripping the vert. She landed very smooth bs fingerflips, a gay twist and fingerflips to fakie and scored 1st. Franziska Stolz from Switzerland was ranked 2nd, Helena Long from Great Britain 3rd.

This years level will be at least as high as last years: Not only have many contestants from 2011 already asked about this years registration dead line, but also many pros that missed last years premiere have assured their participation. So therefore the SMT has all the potential to score as a high class event.

High class is not only the skateboarding but also the family-like-atmosphere at the SUCK MY TRUCKS: For those contestants who already arrive on Friday, the SMT-Team has planned a guided Spot-Check through Berlin, a BBQ in the evening and a warm-up-session at the Berliner Skatehalle.
